Podcast: Two Wins - New "Hockey Mecca", One Loss - Trade Everyone

With the chance to finally talk about hockey games that matter, the Crosby FTW team (@HockeyMeesh and @PolishHMR) kick off the discussion with Hockey Meccas...and how they are north of the border.  After that, Meesh goes into a quick recap of Week 1 before Adam turns their attention to the Pittsburgh Penguins.  They recap each game and take a look at the new line changes that the Pens unveiled today.  After the Pens week in review, Meesh covers transactions and injuries around the league before a quick look at the week ahead for the Penguins.

Edit:  As the podcast was recorded, it was announced Mike Knuble will sign with the Philadelphia Flyers in the wake of the Scott Hartnell injury.

Edit #2:  RFA Jamie Benn just signed a 5 year, $26.25 mil deal with Dallas.

Post #200: Return of the Podcast

With the start of a new year, Meesh and Adam bring back the CrosbyFTW podcast for yet another run.  Despite the ongoing NHL lockout, we spend a significant amount of time discussing our optimism that the league will return soon.  We also cover amnesty buyouts, our opinions of Bettman and Fehr, general CBA talks, and how the lockout has proceeded so far.  After 3 months off, the production was a little rusty, so tune in this week and set your expectations higher for next week!

**The news of Kris Letang's apparent deal with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL came out just after the podcast ended.  Tune in next week to hear Meesh flip out about it....like, really flip out**

Lockout Podcast #5: Both Sides Suck

In the midst of a crazy week full of optimism, pessimism, and rejected proposals, Adam and Meesh break down the latest in the failed NHL CBA talks.  After getting through the nitty gritty details, they move on to a quick look at the Baby Pens, Penguins overseas, and the relationship between Sergei Gonchar and Evgeni Malkin.  Finally, the whereabouts of Francois Leroux are revealed, with the help of a certain social networking site.

Lockout Podcast #4: Hockey Kicks Cancer

The NHL may be dormant, but hockey fans have continued the fight against cancer!  Adam and Meesh lead off this week’s podcast with the results of the Hockey Kicks Cancer Charity Event from this past weekend.  The rest of this episode is a hodgepodge of updates on the CBA, players in Europe, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, and a few lengthy tangents.  The lawyer co-hosts finish off with a “Where Are They Now” that updates you on a player with a lengthy criminal record.

Lockout Podcast #3: Blame Fleury!

Meesh and Adam continue to find an hour's worth of hockey topics each week despite the ongoing NHL lockout.  The podcast begins with talk about the CBA meetings, transitions to player movement around Europe, and ends with the blogger vs. mainstream media battle.  Other topics of note: Malkin's KHL performance, the whereabouts of Sidney Crosby, and throwing Marc-Andre Fleury under a bus.

UPDATE: After just 2 games, Alexander Semin has signed with a KHL team.  Take away everything good we said about him.
NEW UPDATE: Now all of that is being retracted.  I'm done updating this, who cares about Alexander Semin anyways.

Lockout Podcast #2: The Lockout Song

Lost in the madness of figuring out Russian and learning the KHL, a new CrosbyFTW podcast was recorded on Saturday!  Adam debuted his highly anticipated lockout song, "We Want It Our Way (The Lockout Song)."  Listeners can find the podcast, along with the song, under CrosbyFTW on iTunes!

This week's podcast discusses CBA discussions, more player movement overseas, Malkin's KHL debut, the whereabouts of current Penguins, and some NHL 13 talk.  In the spirit of the NHL Lockout, this week's "Where Are They Now" brings back memories of a former Penguins player who also refused to play hockey numerous times.

Corrections:  Please excuse the editing gaffe, the podcast is only an hour long followed by 20 minutes of dead air (blame Adam).  Also, Meesh accidentally says Swiss league instead of Swedish league numerous times.  Please allow him a pass!

Thanks for listening!!

Offseason Podcast #10: There's Pens News!

Adam and Meesh finally return with some Penguins news during this never-ending off-season (seriously, it may never end).  After a quick recap of why sports sucked over Labor Day weekend, Adam begins with a somber dedication to Geno's cat, Dixie.  We then discuss potential destinations for Crosby and Malkin in the event of a lockout and some two-way signings for the Penguins.  After some quick notes about NHL movement, including Sean Avery's fashionable retirement, we move on to the dreaded CBA talk.  Meesh attempts to rant about Allan Walsh before Adam cuts him off to move into the fan favorite "Where are they now?" segment.  Download it on iTunes or listen below!

Offseason Podcast #9: As the Calendar Turns

As the hockey world prepares to turn their calendars from August (Zbynek Michalek) to September (Paul Martin), Meesh (@HockeyMeesh) and Adam (@PolishHMR) return with yet another time-killing podcast.  The dog days of summer have clearly gotten to their heads as Adam frequently loses his mind in this episode.  Hockey topics include: NHL jersey rankings, the latest in CBA talks, recent signings and rumors, and a "Where Are They Now?" segment that will take you back to the late 90's.  Adam's personal topics include: the types of people he attracts and his grasp of the English language.

Tune in now to get the details!  Listen below or find us on iTunes by clicking here.

Offseason Podcast #7 - CBA? Anyone?

After an extra week off, Adam (@PolishHMR) and I (@HockeyMeesh) have returned with Offseason Podcast #7!  We catch up on 2 weeks of signings, including that of Jake Voracek, Alexander Semin, and not including Shane Doan.  We also take the time to reminisce about Sidney Crosby in honor of his recent 25th birthday.  After a frustrating discussion of the lack of CBA movement, we finish off with a "Where are they now" that includes our new favorite ECHL team (sorry Wheeling).

Search for CrosbyFTW on iTunes or listen below!  Feedback is welcome!  Thanks for listening!

We finally have some hockey transactions to talk about!  Adam () and I () discuss the Shea Weber offer sheet and resolution, the Rick Nash trade, and a plethora of other signings that occurred over the past week.  Adam also treats you to a French lesson/joke while I update you on a former Penguin who is now 31 years old and playing in Europe (hint: he came to the Pens in a "blockbuster" trade in the early 00's).

Offseason '12: Podcast #2

Welcome back for Offseason Podcast #2.  In today's podcast, Adam (@PolishHMR) and I discuss the NHL signings over the past two days (Wideman?!?) and discuss members of the Pittsburgh media (preview: we love Dave Molinari and we hate Tim Benz).  We also talk about how the NHLPA may view the Crosby signing. Enjoy, and as always, thanks for listening!!

Any feedback you guys have would be wonderful. Also, let us know if we should post these to iTunes or if this format works.

Finally, we would love it if you guys provided topics for us to cover as we go through the offseason! We can pretty much research and discuss anything NHL related, so if you have questions - post them!

Pens-Flyers Game 1 Recap / Game 2 Preview - Podcast

So as I try to expand on my social media and internet prowess.  I have started to work on a podcast with another Pens fan, Adam G (you can follow him on Twitter, @PolishHMR).  We will likely be doing 15ish minute recap/previews during off days.  Here are our brief thoughts leading into Game 2:

*Eventually, I'll start uploading these to iTunes and attempt to be reputable.  We're just getting started and working out the kinks for now.

And if you didn't hear our inaugural one, there is a link below.  It's a little over an hour long and covers the last couple weeks of the regular season for the Penguins and previews all of the playoff matchups in the NHL.  Comments and critiques are welcome and encouraged!!

And as always, thank you for checking out this blog and these podcasts!!  I appreciate it greatly!
