Hockey is Back? - Fan Info Heading Into Pens Camp

Well, let's start off with a little video:

Hockey is back.  It's a beautiful video, but give me a break; hockey never left.  I have 4 months of KHL recaps that prove that.  At least the Penguins are featured about 30 times in the NHL's 2 minute video though (magnificent Lemieux/Malkin work).

Now here's my attempt to condense all of the recent Pens news into one spot:

  • Here's the Pens schedule with national TV listings:  http://www.nhl.com/ice/schedulebyseason.htm?team=pit
    • 4 NBC games, 14 NHL Network games, 11 NBCSN games.  If you don't live in Pittsburgh, it won't be hard to watch a majority of the games.
  • Single game tickets go on sale Tuesday at 10am on Ticketmaster.  There appears to be a potential presale code for Monday morning according to ticketmaster.  I'll post it if I get it.
    • For season ticket holders - tickets are being reprinted and sent out.  You'll get the first 4 games at once and then the rest of the season later.  Also, your playoff tickets ARE STILL GOOD from the original set.
  • Training camp begins on Sunday, 3:10pm at Southpointe.  It's open to the public.  The rest of the details on camp will be released Sunday, but expect it to shift to Consol during the week.
    • There are no preseason games
    • Guys you can expect to see at training camp aside from the vets: Eric Tangradi, Beau Bennett, Jayson Megna, Simon Despres, Brian Strait, Robert Bortuzzo
    • Here is the training camp roster and schedule:  http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=650154&navid=DL|PIT|home
      • Everything is open to the public.  At Consol: Mon at 12pm, Tues at 11am, Wed scrimmage at 7pm, Fri at 11am

  • Malkin is expected to be in Pittsburgh at some point on Sunday.  Though by all accounts on twitter, no one knows exactly when he's arriving or where he is.  He may already be here.
  • As I'm sure you know by now, the Pens are offering awesome deals early in the season.
    • Three free concession vouchers per person (sorry, no beer) for the first 4 home games
    • All PensGear merchandise 50% off on the first 4 home dates
      • If you call PensGear, you can order apparel from out of town and still get the discount
    • Promotional items at the first 15 home games.  Here is the promotional schedule, easily highlighted by a Malkin bobblehead.
    • And additional contests through their social media efforts in the week leading up to the season

I'll keep posting things as I find them.  LET'S GO PENS!!!
